Before & After

  • Old Fillings and Hidden Tooth Decay

Not all tooth damage causes pain immediately. Tooth decay often develops gradually and may remain symptom-free for a long time. Over the years, old fillings can wear down, lose their seal, and no longer provide adequate protection for the tooth. Even tiny gaps between the filling and the tooth can allow bacteria to accumulate, leading to secondary, or hidden, tooth decay. In many cases, it can only be detected during a routine dental examination. In this case, the old fillings were removed, the decayed tooth structure was carefully cleaned, and the tooth was restored using a modern aesthetic filling material. This restores both the tooth’s function and its natural appearance. Replacing old fillings and treating decay at an early stage helps preserve more healthy tooth structure, reduces the need for more complex treatment, and supports long-term oral health.

  • Treatment of Tooth Decay and Replacement of Old Fillings

Tooth decay does not always cause pain. In many cases, the damage develops gradually and can remain unnoticed for a long time. Old fillings also wear out over time, lose their seal, and no longer provide full protection for the tooth. Recurrent decay can develop beneath such fillings, often without causing any symptoms in the early stages. In this case, tooth decay was detected underneath old fillings. During treatment, the decayed tissue and worn fillings were carefully removed, and the teeth were restored using modern, aesthetic filling materials. Timely treatment helps preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible and reduces the risk of requiring more complex procedures in the future.

  • At the age of two, dental health is already very important

So-called “baby bottle tooth decay” can develop very early, especially if a child often drinks sweetened drinks, milk or formula from a bottle, particularly before bedtime or during the night. In this case, the young patient had 4 primary front teeth restored and another 6 primary teeth treated – 10 primary teeth were treated in total. Primary teeth are not “just temporary teeth”. They help a child eat, speak, develop a proper bite and maintain space for the permanent teeth. Important to remember: start brushing teeth from the very first tooth; do not let a child fall asleep with a bottle in their mouth; avoid frequent consumption of sweet drinks; take the child to the dentist regularly, even if there are no complaints. The earlier a problem is noticed, the gentler and simpler the treatment can be. The treatment was carried out under general anaesthesia. During dental sanitation, the gums may sometimes be slightly traumatised. This is normal, especially when several teeth are treated in one visit. Usually, the gums heal within a few days if the doctor’s instructions for oral care are followed.

  • Full smile reconstruction – restoring aesthetics and chewing function with All on 4 implants

The patient came to the clinic with significant aesthetic and functional concerns, wishing to restore quality of life and full chewing function. To achieve the desired result, a complete smile reconstruction was performed. Four implants were placed in the upper jaw, creating a stable foundation for a high-quality zirconia prosthesis, while in the lower jaw a natural appearance was achieved with aesthetic ceramic crowns. During the six-month rehabilitation period, the implants successfully integrated into the jawbone, allowing the creation of a strong and visually attractive construction. Today, the patient has regained not only a fully functional bite, but also self-confidence and the joy of smiling.

  • Full smile reconstruction – restoration of aesthetics and function with All on 4 implants

The patient came to our clinic with severe dental damage, several missing teeth, and difficulty chewing. This affected not only the appearance of the smile, but also everyday comfort and overall quality of life. To restore both dental function and the appearance of the smile, a full smile reconstruction was carried out. In the upper jaw, treatment was performed using the All on 4 implants method with immediate loading. This made it possible to secure a temporary fixed prosthesis on the day of surgery, allowing the patient to smile again and feel comfortable right away. In the lower jaw, implants were placed in the posterior areas to provide stable support and proper distribution of chewing forces. After a four-month healing period, the temporary restoration was replaced with a permanent zirconia prosthesis. To achieve a harmonious and aesthetically balanced result, veneers were also made for the lower teeth. As a result, the patient regained a natural, harmonious smile, fully restored chewing function, and greater confidence in daily life. The procedure was performed under general anaesthesia at our clinic in Mārupe, ensuring maximum comfort and safety throughout the treatment process. To achieve a precise and aesthetically high-quality final result, the treatment was also carried out in cooperation with the dental laboratory Dental Lab. If you are facing similar problems and are considering full smile restoration, the first step is a consultation and diagnostics. During the visit, a thorough examination is carried out and an individual treatment plan is prepared, clearly explaining the treatment process, stages, and expected costs. Every case is different, which is why treatment is always tailored individually to ensure an aesthetically pleasing, functional, and long-lasting result.
